FRIDAY, MAY 5

HØST (DK/SE)

The four women in Høst have found the common vision to create a vocal playground, where with four voices and nothing else, they interpret and challenge the traditions in the Nordic folk music as well as in the modern polyphonic song. With inspiration from Nordic instrumental folk, Bulgarian women's choir and the harmonious universe of jazz Høst creates a new sound of Nordic acapella folk; a spring symphony of chirping birds, powerful raw dissonances and rhythmic poetry.

KLINGRA (DK/FO)

The risks and radicalism of quiet music prove to be a rich seedbed for Faroe Islands collective Klingra. Spawned from the band Afenginn in 2020, Klingra – the name refers to something circular – start from a point where all extraneous matter seems to have been pared away, leaving room for the members to explore and experiment with elemental and emotive currents of atmospheric pop and classical influences.

TUHAF (DK/TR)

TUHAF is a Danish/Turkish rock band from Copenhagen fronted by charismatic Turkish born singer Berrin Bas. The band is a fusion of different types of musicians and all kinds of genres - Anatolian folk, indie rock, free jazz, Danish traditional songs and US roots rock. Even though the lyrics are and will remain poetry of love, it is not shiny happy songs about falling in love which the band excels in. Rather it is the breach, the sorrow, the conflict and profound longing that forms the subject matter.

FAIZAL MOSTRIXX (UG)

Driven by the urge to create his own musical hybrids, Faizal Mostrixx has pioneered “tribal electronics”, an infectious fresh new sound that weaves regional beats and moods with electronic soundscapes and hypnotic indigenous urban dances. Mostrixx's music gives African sound an electronic spin like Ibaaku or Guedra Guedra. It is both raw and full of futurist fierce energy like Onipa. It is a storm of tribal culture and innovation merged with epileptic rhythms and frenetic highly danceable loops like Tshegue.

They play with the meeting between electronic and analogue and create an atmospheric and dreamy universe.
