TootArd

Arabic quarter-tone pop from the Golan Hights. 80’s nostalgia in inventive and high-flying disco productions.

TootArd, which is Arabic for strawberries, consistes of the brothers Hasan and Rami Nakhleh from the mountainside village of Majdal Shams in the occupied Syrian Golan Heights. Surfing on tempo-filled synthesizer melodies the duo creates heartwarming and irresistible disco hooks chopped up in Arabic quarter-tone-melodies. Like they were lifted straight out of an 80’s Beirut night club, TootArd’s music is just as suitable and uplifting a soundtrack for the parties of yesteryear as today. Enjoy an emotional and shamelessly groovy declaration of retro-love to the hybrid of 80’s disco and hi-sheen contemporary.

TootArd will play in det turkise telt on Friday the 27th of August at 21:00.
